Ecovisions Renewable Energy Kits
We’ve put together 6 kits which should cover all the combinations of most common systems. These have been worked out based on field tests, experience and accurate calculations. These Kits are UK only, other global locations require specific calculations and have different factors to consider, so we do location specific calculations where necessary. The correct kit is required in order to power the system properly and with 100% reliability.
It isn’t a simple case of “this camera consumes 25W, so a 30W solar panel will do”. Heck no! There are so many various calculations and factors affecting the right choice of renewable energy equipment in order for the system to be reliable enough to be mission critical and be on every second of the day 24/7, all year round. We have to calculate all kinds of power consumptions, load cycles when it’s sunny, when it isn’t, when it’s windy or just breezy, when it isn’t, when the camera is moving, when it isn’t, transmitting, not transmitting, LEDs flashing, not flashing, etc, etc. We also have to keep on top of annual wind and solar resource data globally, location of the system in relation to latitude and longitude, local obstacles, buildings, trees, height, the list goes on and on.
BUT... the good news is we do all this hard work so you don’t have to. All you really have to do is know what camera you want and which way you want to transmit the video back to a control, how to follow the supplied simple connection diagram, and choose a couple of other options like anti-climb, etc. We are on hand to do all the technical bits, we even pre-configure many of the components so even an engineer without a lot of experience can fit one of our systems in half a day.
Kits
We’ve put together the kits based on field tests, months of calculations and equipment on test, test installations in different environments and locations, years of experience, nasa data, global resource data and many other factors. We’ve tried to make it as easy as possible for the installer so that you can just pick from a list of “I’ll have, that, that and that... done”. It’s pretty much plug and play when it arrives, we’ve deliberately designed it this way. Installers have enough to do as it is, without having to learn a new market... we’ve been there, we know. Some of our team were either engineers for or ran installation/integration companies, so we used this to help us come up with what we feel is a good way forward. You want to say “I want a unit with 2 cameras, I want to send it wirelessly to a remote building, there’s no power at the location, how much and when can I have it?”. So we’ve built a way to do just that, and as a result the product you order comes with everything you need, so your engineer just needs their tools.
The data sheets are available to download in our download section for end users, integrators, distributors and product manufacturers. The products are available through approved integrators, distributors and resellers but if you need any information or help in the selection process, just call us... we’re nice.
Important Notes:
It is very important to realise that we provide the systems complete, items cannot normally be swapped out because the product has been calculated based upon specific power figures obtained from selected reliable equipment. Powering systems by renewable energy is not as straight forward as most people think (if it were, there would be a lot more companies doing what we do), so it is important that the products are not altered or added to. We can do this in some cases on a quantity to time ration and commitment basis, other than that our large product range should cover most applications at present.
